Overview

About this event

The IAHUB-TZ Teacher Network is pleased to announce a four-day professional development workshop that will bring together primary and secondary school teachers to strengthen their capacity to integrate emerging digital technologies into classroom teaching and learning. The workshop will be held from 12–15 August 2026 in Mtwango, Njombe, Tanzania. Designed to support competency-based education, the workshop will provide teachers with practical, hands-on experience in using Artificial Intelligence, Google Workspace for Education and GeoGebra to design engaging, learner-centred lessons. Participants will explore how these technologies can enhance classroom instruction, improve assessment practices, promote collaboration and support inclusive teaching across different subjects. Throughout the training, teachers will engage in interactive learning activities, collaborative lesson design, classroom demonstrations and peer learning sessions. Special emphasis will be placed on integrating digital technologies through culturally responsive and interdisciplinary pedagogies that foster Critical Thinking, Creativity, Collaboration and Communication. By the end of the workshop, participants will be equipped with practical skills and ready-to-use teaching strategies that can be immediately implemented in their classrooms. The workshop also aims to strengthen the growing community of innovative educators who continuously learn, share experiences and support one another in transforming education through technology.
